He forgot – A poem

He laid there on the white bed

with a breather on his mouth

Flashes of memory

flooded his mind

All alone in this world

In desire to pursue his career

he forgot the lady

who stood awake

while waiting for him to come home

the boy who wanted his advice

about a girl he liked

the girl who needed a father

because she felt left out at school

He forgot them

He forgot his family

All he wishes

If he could hold her hand for one last time

If he could give his boy a hug

If he could see his daughter smile

he forgot to pursue his family
