Poem

This Indian Bride…

An attempt at describing the exceptional beauty of an Indian bride. Beauty with the generations of cultures and traditions hidden behind.

“Pulls the seams, brings down the hem

Of the fine taffeta

Crafted with excellence

Adorned with motifs of renaissance

Places the tikka firm

Eyes glazing with pride

Lips sparkling ablaze

Auric jewels hanging over the ear

Gravid necklace adorning the neck

Veil heavy with duty

Hands tattooed with beautiful mehendi

Eyes narrating the generations of cultures

Inherited
