Day 3 of my stay at Abu Dhabi. We saved the weekend here for Dubai. (Friday and saturday is weekend here in UAE) So we started our journey at 11:30 here. We planned to eat at Last Exit, which is the merging point of Abu Dhabi and Dubai. So we were driving on the highway and the roads were really pretty, beautifully adorned by trees and flowers. I respect the government here to have incorporated so much greenery in this deserted land.
We reached Last Exit by 12:30 ‘ish and stopped by for some lunch. So Last Exit is like really cool place because of the set up of the entire area. There are these mini vans beautifully converted into food trucks. We grabbed a patio towards the shade because the sun was really strong. I ordered myself a fiery grill burger meal and also some fries. Oh and here’s where a disaster happened. I ate the burger only to realise it was beef and not chicken. Ik it may not seem like a big issue, but you know in India, we kinda worship cattle so there’s no beef in out traditional food. But it didn’t taste any different. Lol.
We departed from Last exit by 1:30. Oh one thing to notice while coming from Abu Dhabi to Dubai is the dramatic change of road color, street lights and surrounded. With the blink of an eye you enter a deserted area, blue-grey road and 2 headed street lights. (Abu Dhabi has more greener surroundings, dark grey road and 3 headed street lights… Details huh?) We drove past Jebel Ali zone and soon reached Dubai Marina. We scheduled Palm Jumeirah, JBR and Marina for today. So first we drove over Palm Jumeirah and through the underwater bridge we reached the crescent of Palm and drove in front of Atlantis, The Palm. We got a parking space right in front of it.
Atlantis is beyond beautiful with an exuberant view of Persian Gulf.
After this, we went to JBR, and parked our car over there and decided to walk uptil Marina. Here’s where you actually get the feel that you’re walking in DUBAI. Like seriously. We decided to take up a boat ride around the Atlantis. We planned for the 5 pm one but we got the 4 pm one instead. It gets little too crowdy for 5 pm one.
Watch the slideshow below for some pics that I clicked during the boat ride.
After the boat ride we decided to walk on the JBR beach and later grabbed ourselves some waffle sandwiches.
After this long and tiring day we finally started driving back home. The entire highway was covered in dense fog so we got like a little late.
